Mitsubishi Electric Cooling & Heating Donates to Veterans Community Project

Mitsubishi Electric US, Inc. Cooling & Heating Division (Mitsubishi Electric), a leading manufacturer of Zoned Comfort Solutions™ and Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) cooling and heating systems, announced the donation of 50 Zoned Comfort Solutions™ to the Veterans Community Project (VCP).

The VCP is a nonprofit organization serving homeless veterans in Kansas City, Missouri. Founders and veterans, Chris Stout, Kevin Jamison and Mark Solomon launched the program in 2015 with the goal of creating a holistic support system for men and women who have served in the United States military. The VCP’s services include housing of veterans in the Veterans Village community, as well as offering food, utilities, counseling and employment opportunities.

In support of this project, Mitsubishi Electric donated 50 MSZ-SH09 indoor units and MUZ-SH09 outdoor units to the tiny homes in the Veterans Village, and plans to donate a Zoned Comfort Solution to the 6,000 square foot community center. The compact systems sit comfortably within each 240-square-foot house, providing the organization with an efficient utility saving system. “Mitsubishi Electric’s efforts opened the doors for other companies to follow in their footsteps. They were the first company to step up and donate, helping to lower the overall cost of our Veterans Village. We are grateful for their help in making this project possible,” says Kevin Jamison, co-founder, Veterans Community Project.

“The VCP is doing great work for the Kansas City community in their mission to end veteran homelessness. We are honored to support this organization and provide veterans a comfortable home and sense of wellbeing during their transition back into society,” says David Wadsworth, director residential business, Southwest Business Unit, Mitsubishi Electric US Cooling & Heating Division.
